The Story of Four Girls
The Four Girls Mountain consists of a total of 4 Mounts:
- Daguniang Feng (Eldest Sister): A height of 5,055 meters above sea level
- Erguniang Feng (Second Eldest Sister): A height of 5,454 meters above sea level
- Sanguniang Feng (Middle Sister): A height of 5,664 meters above sea level
- Yaomei Feng (Youngest Sister): A height of 6,250 meters above sea level
Legend has it that the four girls were born in a small village with beauty and a good heart. When a big snowstorm occurred, they had to travel to find shelter. During the trip, they met a mountain god who fell in love and proposed, but when they refused, the gods were angry and cursed the four girls to become mountains to protect the village from danger. The highest peak is Yaomei Feng which is known as “Queen of Sichuan’s peaks”. The reason why the youngest sister is taller than the other sisters according to local beliefs is that younger people tend to live better and grow better than older people.
