Domestic flights can check-in’ in via ThaID
Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, a spokesperson of the Office of the Prime Minister said the digital age is convenient for people to use ThaID applications to verify themselves without having to carry their ID cards with them to help speed up, safety and efficiency.
In addition to authenticating via the ThaID app, the app also supports home registration transactions such as moving in and out without having to travel to the district office. The authorities can view information from the app’s mobile phone immediately and when they touch the ID Card photo, they can view information on the front and back of the card. However, images in the app cannot be saved to a mobile album and only have to be used through the app, so you don’t have to worry about the data being copied for use.
For air travel, the ThaID app simplifies the process of checking passengers’ tickets and ID cards with a Biometric system that allows passengers to quickly pass the check-in process and check-in point. If no baggage is loaded under the plane, passengers can check-in in advance via the AOT website or the airline. If you have any luggage, you can load the luggage at the scheduled time before boarding.
Thai passengers who forgot to carry their ID cards can use the ID card in the ThaID app instead to check in and go through various procedures of domestic airlines. Simply download the ThaID app and register your ID card and important documents such as home registration will appear in the app.
The government emphasizes that the development of the application is part of the public and tourists’ convenience. It is expected that the number of travelers will continue to increase this year and next due to the government’s continuous tourism support measures.
