Agoda released a survey of 7 tourism trends in 2025 highlighting that travelers focus on the importance of family vacations and exploration of new locations with a more visible digital nomad trend.
According to a survey conducted by Agoda, a digital travel platform on travel trends in 2025, it has revealed that tourists focus on spending time with loved ones and looking for rest, avoiding busy daily life. The survey also shows the trend of remote work, exploring the inspiration of new places and travel targets for theme parks are gaining huge popularity.

Travelers choose to travel with family the most
With more than 34% of travelers planning a family trip in 2025. Indonesians are the most interested in traveling with their families with 58%. It is expected to travel with families of different ages, followed by couples with 23% and 19% alone.
Leisure is the main motivation to travel
According to the survey, 75% of the respondents chose leisure as their main motivation, especially 87% of Singaporeans wanted to travel to relax. In addition, 39% of the region traveled to visit family and friends and 34% were interested in exploring new cultures.
Use technology to help you plan and travel
Technology has played a huge role in our lives, with more than 80% of travelers planning by using applications on the go and 12% interested in virtual tours. The Indians are the most tech-savvy group in nine out of ten people using applications to help book trips.
Cheaper transportation costs will boost tourism to be more worthwhile
78% of Thai travelers set a budget of no more than 8,500 baht per night for accommodation, 84% set a budget the same or more, and 71% set a budget the same as last year. Prices are not a hindrance to overseas travel, as 84% of all respondents said they would travel the same or more than in 2024, with 52% planning to travel abroad. Hong Kong travelers are most likely to travel abroad.
Work From Anyway; new life balance
Although 28% of respondents still travel to work or do business in the same way, the survey reflects the growing trend of “digital nomads,” with 1 in 25 respondents planning to work without entering the company, with 1 in 14 travelers expected to work on their way, followed by Thailand with 6% f the respondents that plan to work without entering the company next year.
Discovery inspiration from travel
84% of travelers want to go to new destinations. This is inspired by personal interest at 71%, by low-cost promotions at 56%, by friends and family advice at 33%, and by social media at 29%. Both Malaysians and Indonesians are most inspired by Instagram and similar social media.
Amusement Parks and Entertainment
Sometimes lives need to be spiced up. One of the reasons people choose to travel is theme parks. Most of the destinations are famous in Asia, including Disneyland in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, Lotte World in Seoul, and Universal Studios in Osaka and Singapore. Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, where 13% of all travelers plan to go to an amusement park. One out of five Indonesians is particularly interested in going to an amusement park.
